Couples Therapy – A new Workshop Series

We are pleased to announce a new workshop series offering: Couples Therapy.

To quote the great Nancy McWilliams, “Couples therapy is difficult!” Couples Therapy, like all therapy, can take you into strange places, some of which you may have never occupied nor would wish to.

It can demand a degree of courage and clear thinking and a willingness to think beyond what is comfortable, especially if you find populist, politically correct maps too small to construe the territory you find yourself in.

This workshop series sets out to shine a light on the things they didn’t tell you in couples training. The Couples Therapy seminar topics are:

  • Couples Therapy: From Straightforward to Complex
  • Assessment, Opening Phases and the Therapist’s Tasks
  • Important Concepts to Consider Regarding Couples Therapy
  • “In The Thick of It”: Some Useful Reframes
  • Affairs, Infidelities, Betrayal and Trust
  • From Conscious Alliance to an Intersubjectivity
  • The Therapist’s Responses in Couples Therapy

The feedback in those arenas is often less immediate and quite obscure.
